A New Dimension



As we discovered during a recent exploratory trip in the Bahamas, Triton submarines are taking the experience of yacht ownership to a whole new level. The vast world beneath your hull is primarily unexplored, yet now within reach. Dive in this account of one of the most tranquil and yet thrilling adventures we’ve enjoyed to date.


Our recent trip to the Bahamas to test dive the Triton 3300/3 convinced us that owning a yacht without a submarine, without delving into the infinitely changing deep, one is quite literally just scratching the surface of what the ocean lifestyle truly offers.


 



Our adventure started aboard the sports utility support vessel MY Global, a shadow vessel Triton had chartered and one eminently equipped for the operation ahead. After a warm welcome by Triton’s Founder and President, Patrick Lahey, the surprising brevity of the safety briefing proved to be indicative of just how secure these high-end submarines are. Think aircraft pre-takeoff briefing and you’re pretty much there. In fact, the analogy is not far off the mark at all; with a fully trained pilot at the helm (extensive training is provided for crew and owners), as a passenger one simply sits back, relaxes, sips a glass of something cold and enjoys the flight.
